WE ARE GRACE CITY CHURCH

WE TURN 10 THIS YEAR. WE DON'T HAVE A HOME. IT'S TIME TO BUILD

But, We didn’t think the community needs another inward-oriented member-only club used once a week. That’s why we want to build something different...a gift to our community, used by our community, open 7 days a week.

A space where people, ideas, and resources come together to build the future

FLOURISH

We envision a space that serves as a gathering place for children, families, entrepenuaers, businesspeople, leaders, builders, risk-takers, doers, and future-makers. A space that celebrates art, values discovery, and shapes culture.

CULTIVATE

We envision a space where people invest in people who do big things that matter. Where mentorship and collaboration accelerate education and business. Where leadership and excellence is cultivated in the context of life-giving community.

INNOVATE

We envision a space where ideas and innovation, creativity and resources, people and gifts converge to change the world. Where we gather to dream, imagine, and innovate to meet community challenges with entrepreneurial solutions.

 SPACE-MAKING MANIFESTO

WE DREAM OF A PLACE...

…where mentorship is valued, dreams are born, risks are taken. Where heritage & history are honored, the present enjoyed, the future built. Where ideas find allies and failure is success. Where ordinary people converge to do extraordinary things, together. Where problems are wrestled with, solutions are brainstormed, & businesses are started…over a good local brew. Where collaboration, innovation, creativity, & generosity are not just words on a wall but values embodied. Where wisdom is gained, children are valued, skills are honed, culture is shaped. Where work is humanized, profession is exchanged for calling, and people wake up with a drive to make a difference. Where being a life-long learner is the norm. Where music and art are enjoyed. Where people come to be renewed in mind, body, soul, and then in turn leave energized to work for the renewal of the community they call home. Where people flock from around the world to be inspired for the possible when people press into the power of together. Where compelling vision draws great things out of ordinary people who go on to do big things that really matter. Where awesome is aimed at and excellence is achieved. Where we dream globally and act locally for change, justice, joy, & human flourishing. Where relationships thrive, potential is realized, & cool stuff just gets done. In short, where community happens.

And where together, we do Wenatchee

GROUND BREAKING DAY ON OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY MAY 20th

BUILDING HOME

Building Home is Grace City's resource initiative to raise the necessary funds within our church family to build this project. The funds raised by the people of Grace City was comprised of two parts...one part cash-gift, one part 3-year pledge (this is giving over-and-above normal tithes and offerings).

What the people of Grace City accomplished in this initiative was a profound expression of the power of working together. Suffice it to say, the generosity of our people blew our original goal out of the water. Read below to see how much we raised!

MEET THE STORY TELLER

On the morning of January 28th, 2018, Pastor Josh introduced our church family to the architect who helped conceptualize our church's vision and dream. His spatial-storytelling abilities, honed at Disneyland for 15 years, his passionate heart for the local church, his own personal story of redemption, and his fascinating take on the power of immersive story-telling deeply blessed our church family that morning.

PREMIER EVENT

On January 28th, 2018, Grace City gathered at Wenatchee High School to hear Pastor Josh and Mel McGowan reveal for the first time the conceptual drawings, artist renderings, 3D fly through, and overall vision and philosophy behind our new facility. As we left, each person was challenged to take with them a brick and prayerfully ask one simple question... "What's my part?"

FREQUENTLY ASKED Q'S

WHAT IS BUILDING HOME?

Building Home is our resource initiative to raise the funds necessary to build our church family's home. Gifts consist of cash and pledge, and are above normal tithes and offerings.

WHAT IS OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL?

Our goal was to raise $5M in cash and pledge. This above-and-beyond giving would allow us to start construction on Phase 1 this year. On Victory Sunday, the incredible generosity of the people of Grace City resulted in $7.1M raised in cash and pledge, allowing us to accelerate the phasing, build more, and borrow less to complete the project!

WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST OF PHASE 1?

Including all site improvements, parking lot, AVL, landscaping, and 38,745 sq. ft. of finished space, the augmented Phase 1 (as a result of Grace City's generous giving!) is estimated to cost $10.6 Million.

ARE WE WILLING TO TAKE OUT A LOAN?

Yes. The church has consulted with multiple financial advisors to determine the size of loan we can responsibly leverage given our current size, number of donors, giving history, operating budget, and cash flow. We are proud to announce a local partnership with the people of Banner Bank to build this project.

WHEN WILL WE BREAK GROUND & WHEN IS ESTIMATED COMPLETION?

Depending on how soon funds come in and several other factors outside our control, our current critical path has us breaking ground May 20th, starting foundations late 2018, and finishing construction sometime early 2020.

ARE THERE MORE PLANS THAN WHAT IS REPRESENTED IN PHASE 1?

Yes. Our Master Plan includes an additional 40,000 sq. ft. (approximate). But while we have more vision than resources, we are committed to taking it one step at a time and building at the pace of the Lord provides.

IS GRACE CITY CHURCH CONNECTED TO A DENOMINATION THAT CAN HELP FINANCIALLY?

No. We are a home-grown start-up with no denomination affiliation. All funds raised for operations and captial projects comes locally from the members of Grace City.

HOW MUCH HAVE WE RAISED BEFORE BUILDING HOME AND WHAT WAS IT USED FOR?

Starting December of 2014 until March 2018, the people of Grace City gave a total of $1,817,932 over and above tithes and offerings to this dream. As a result, we were able to pay off the property, secure all necessary permits, consultants, and engineers, complete off-site construction, hire our architect, complete Master Planning, and finish Schematic Design for Phase 1. All of this work and giving is what has brought us to where we are today...poised to build the actual facility!

Looking South

chapel

This turn of the century white-washed chapel is designed to evoke the one-room schoolhouse-meets-church experience that was the center of so much life in rural America. A modest venue of 150, this site offers the perfect place for weddings, memorials, and other celebrations.

Chapel

Amphitheater

Behind the chapel a small stage opens to the south-facing amphitheater. These historic terraces carved in 1926 held some of the valley's first cherries, irrigated by carrying buckets of water from the Wenatchee River. A large roll-up door opens to share full sound production capacities with the chapel. Enjoy a fall wedding or summer concert on the grassy seating while taking in the sweeping views.

The Courtyard

A tree-lined cobblestone pathway carries you from the parking lot into a garden-like courtyard. Surrounded by vintage architecture, open to natural light, and centrally located between all buildings, this outdoor plaza brings everyone together. Walking through you might catch a glimpse of children playing in the splash-pad, or enjoy live music on the stage by the fountain, or celbrate someone getting baptized!

The Event Center

The Event Center

A room designed around experience, the flat floor allows for a variety of set-up options, while the stadium seats offer an elevated perspective. From the score tables in the back to the flying terrace on the side, no seat is more than 72' from the stage, giving this large venue an intimate and personal feel.

Grace Town 2nd Floor

Grace Town is the big space for Grace City's little folks. A two-story glass-incased play area welcomes every child to explore, play, and learn. Built to hold up to 200 kids on a Sunday morning, or 90 kids for an Academic-based- preschool and Daycare mid-week, this space is guaranteed to be teeming with life and energy all week long!

Grace Town 1st Floor

Designed by the creators of Downtown Disney and California Adventure, this space welcomes kids into a safe and fun world of exploring. Don't be surprised if they don't want to leave! At every turn the imagination is engaged, from the self-directed kidzeum to the agriculturally themed indoor/outdoor play spaces. Special attention was given to registration flow fro easy check-in and check-out.
