In our modern era of science, medicine administered by white-robed doctors in sterile hospitals, and courtrooms with endless appeal processes, we know very little of the state-sponsored terror that was capital punishment under the Roman Empire. Jesus was sent from sham trial to tragic death in less than 24 hours.
