Why Heaven Matters Now
Oct 22, 2017 • Pastor Josh McPherson
John Lennon, hoping to stir people to living lives that matter, urged a generation to “Imagine there’s no Heaven” and to be a people “living for today.” Then the “earth would live as one,” and we would all find peace and transcendence. The mirage of Heaven and the afterlife was viewed as a distraction because it keeps us from caring deeply about this life. But the Bible urges us to do just the opposite...to dream of and imagine Heaven for the precise purpose of helping us live better lives here on earth. So which is it? If that is true, how so? How does thinking of Heaven actually make us more earthly good?
